Dressmaking & Pattern Cutting Classes – your very own ‘Sewing Bee’ in North Lincolnshire & East Yorkshire
All aspects of dressmaking and pattern cutting are covered by a sewing bee workshop, and it’s entirely up to you what you want to get out of it. We can show you how to select the correct pattern size and alter your pattern to get a great fit, or you might like to try making your own patterns from your body measurements.
The groups are usually kept to a maximum of 6 students, enough to make it a fun and social sewing session, but individual enough to make sure that everyone gets the guidance and help they need. This is a great way to make stylish clothes that fit and new friends with a shared passion for sewing.
The Sewing Bee classes run on various weekdays, evenings and Saturdays.
During these flexible, friendly mixed group classes everyone works on their own project to extend their skills. Beginners and sewers with skills are most welcome. The classes will help you get more from your sewing machine and overlocker (if you have one), how to either make your own patterns using your body measurements or fit a commercial pattern. The aim is to help you make clothes with stylish individuality, confidence and with a fantastic fit.
Make time to sew with other enthusiasts.
What's included in the price?
You are welcome to bring along your own machines and equipment but the studio is fully equipped with sewing machines and overlockers. Fabrics and other materials are available to buy at the studio.
The cost includes tuition and refreshments. You can bring a packed lunch. There is a cafe on site and Tesco's next door.
There may be a small cost payable on the day to cover materials.
