This creative design has been inspired from Native American symbols and traditions with intricate ornamentation. The piece combines and features elements from the Navajo. The dreamcatcher is a talisman believed to protect people. The additions of hand carved hanging feathers symbolise power, wisdom and peace. The sculpted wolf's head symbolises leadership and protection. The pendant is punctuated with small turquoise stone settings seen very frequently in Native American jewellery and framed by the feature decorative bail. Learners will be inspired by Tracey's relaxed and informative teaching style as they work towards creating a piece of silver clay art jewellery.
During this two day workshop, learners will work on different techniques in the development of the elements to combine into their design. This will include sculpting, moulding and carving to create the wolf head and feathers, piercing and hand texturing for the main dreamcatcher, stone setting for the focal gem, hollow form construction in creating the bail and making the twisted rope embellishment
