Drawing Reptiles - 1 day workshop - Worthing West Sussex

Student working

A fantastic opportunity to draw Wild Animals - 'Reptylers' will be visiting us with a selection of interesting Reptiles!

This course is suitable for all levels as individual support will be given to help you get the most out of the morning.

The session will be made up of:

Morning - sketching, along with exploring measuring techniques (for beginners), form, structure, line and texture. More experienced students may want to also work with colour. Professionals will be on hand to give us key information about each reptile as we sketch and there will be an opportunity to handle some animals!

Afternoon - studio time to get the most out of your morning's sketches, being supported by Tricia to complete work or build a body of animal reference images to take home.

Materials: Camera, iPad/Tablet to take photos during the morning.
Please bring your own art materials; sketching pencils or charcoal, paper to fit your drawing board. You may also like to use colour mediums (if you have experience with them) – watercolours, inks or pastels.

The tutor Tricia Johnson has been teaching this regular drawing course since 2015, the tutor also teaches daily drawing and painting sessions for the local Adult Education service in West Sussex, where she has been running courses for 20 years.

The course is based in the local church hall where a charity cafe is run in the morning for tea and coffee. Please bring your own lunch or you can visit the Co-op only a few doors down the road. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available in the afternoon.

Feel free to get in touch to find out any further information.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

Beautiful model and plenty of instructions from Tricia. Made unpleasant by the necessity of having to wear masks all day. Shame the November session has been cancelled, but looking forward to February 2021!

Response from Art with Tricia:

Thanks for your feedback.
Fingers crossed our 2021 courses won't have such strict COVID restrictions and we may be able to dispense with masks.
I'm glad you enjoyed the session otherwise.
