About the Course

This course is for those who want to draw more and with growing confidence. The course provides a supportive space in which to practice your drawing skills and develop a necessary critical eye through reflectivity which is encouraged. Drawing principles, materials and techniques will be covered both in short group exercises and one-to-one according to your particular interests. The course provides a foundation in relevant historical and current drawing practice as a point of discussion and as a resource over the weekend providing ways forward for our own drawing.

Course tutor: Jevan Watkins Jones
Jevan's teaching approach is simultaneously gentle and rigorous. He is an alumnus of the Royal Drawing School where he received First Prize for his drawings from city farms. His drawing practice ranges from sensitive and energetic studies of plants and people in the landscape to working on long term collaborative drawing projects with communities such as Facing-Recovering with injured soldiers. Jevan has a very active enjoyment of gardens, plants and the natural world. This course offers an opportunity to benefit from his two great passions.
