About the Course
A 5 day design and weaving course in Edinburgh.
How does one arrive at constructing a woven cloth, where do weavers get there ideas from? This class has been designed for those who wish to give their woven work context from self generated imagery, specifically looking at how one translates the draw mark into a woven fabric.
This 5 day workshop will begin by exploring mark making/drawing through building up surfaces with combinations of colour, utilising a variety of techniques including wax resist and traditional mark making to produce individual collections of papers, which will then be a source of inspiration to design and produce ones own handwoven fabric, where we will look at proportion as well as structure before weaving your finished piece on an eight shaft Ashford table loom.
