About the Course
How does one arrive at constructing a woven cloth, where do weavers get there ideas from? This class has been designed for those who wish to give their woven work context from self generated imagery, specifically looking at how one translates the draw mark into a woven fabric and for this class, specifically a double cloth structure.
This 10 day workshop will begin by exploring mark making/drawing through building up surfaces with combinations of colour, utilising a variety of non traditional techniques combined with traditional mark making to produce individual collections of imagery, which will then be a source of inspiration to design and produce ones own double cloth fabric.
Please note this class is about about understanding the structure of a double cloth, as well as translating the hand drawn mark into a double cloth and not necessarily about having a completed length of fabric, although there will be space to complete as much in the two weeks.

Day two - Designing your cloth through collage and yarn choice.
