These materials go well together, yet are very different. Learn how the addition of water can make the pigments run and blend in exciting ways.

This is a practical class and you will spend most of your class time working at home. Your tutor will send you project brief with images and guidance on materials by email ahead of the session with options for 1:1 tutorial support and feedback. On the day the class will use Zoom or Teams for group instruction, short lectures on artists' work and group discussions.
There will be simple demonstrations and technique experiments to show you the possibilities within each material and process, and how they work when combined. You will all start by following some quick instructions to learn basic techniques, then you will be encouraged to develop your own work using these techniques.
Although there are limitations when working from home, there is an opportunity here to meet others on line and to investigate ideas away from the college studio. It might be that your work could (in part) reflect elements from this challenging time and might provide the basis for work to be developed further in the future.
