About the Course
Learn a variety of technical and experimental approaches to working from the model, still life and landscape. Suitable for beginners and intermediate level students.
By the end of the course you will be able to
Work confidently from the model or from a still life.
Set an objective for a piece of work and assess its merits/shortcomings
Experiment with techniques and ideas creatively and imaginatively.
Outline an awareness of line, form, colour and composition in your work
Use a variety of painting and drawing materials.

Studio practice and group discussion
Question and Answer
Observation and "show and tell".
In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.
The only requirement is an interest in painting and drawing.
What you need to know before you enrol
Many of the Art & Design studios have limited accessibility. If you have restricted mobility please contact the Art & Design Administrator or Learning Support before enrolling.
This course takes place in the art studio in the main building which is accessible by lift.
