About the Course

Learn how to make beautiful hand stitched Dorset buttons, perfect for finishing any project. These buttons were world famous, made throughout East Dorset for two centuries, before dying out due to the industrial revolution. In this course you will learn how to make several different types of button, including how to design your own. We will cover materials used as well as techniques and a little history to round things off.

My name is Jen Best and I have been button making for more than 30 years. I have self published two books on button making and have taught classes to individuals and groups all over Britain.
I teach in my fibre craft studio at the Fairground Craft and Design Centre in Weyhill, not far from Andover. The craft centre has a fabulous cafe, along with several studios doing a variety of crafts. My studio is light and airy, with lots of colourful inspiration for button making.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?
