This course is ideal for anybody that has enthusiasm for documentary photography and a desire to develop ideas to tell a story through a more focused documentary project series.
This course particularly suits students that have previously done our Documentary Photography: The Essentials course or Photograph the City: London through the lens.
Students will explore what makes a potentially good photographic project whilst improving their practice learning the processes and skills to investigate an idea, take pictures, reflect, take more pictures and then how to edit for the most effective dramatic combinations and sequencing of photographs to tell the story. This is a great course if you aspire to create a Photobook or simply take your photography to the next level. This course could assist with portfolio building to apply for higher education.
Refunds are not available on this booking. Start dates may be amended on request.
The class will be taught online at a specific course time each week. You will learn via a mix of presentation, active learning exercises, assignments, demonstrations, hand-outs, step-by-step instructions, pair working and group discussion. One-to-one tuition will be given to help develop ideas and skills. Manageable project work will be assigned between and during classes to help you progress. The classes are informal and allow for question and answer sessions, technical advice and support depending on your needs. You will receive assessment and feedback on your progress.
You will work as a class, in small break out groups, in pairs and one to one with your tutor. All course material will be instantly accessible via the learning platform and the sessions will be recorded so that you may return to them later. Learners will be encouraged to use the class forums to engage with each other during the class and to support each other with project work.
