About the Course

Learn to create layered silkscreen prints. Explore and experiment with simple paper stencils, develop designs using hand drawn and photographic images. Create and mix colour palettes and overprint to generate exciting multi coloured prints. Suitable for all levels including beginners.

Learn to stretch a screen, cut and devise a series of paper stencils to print as a background layer. Using simple registration techniques, experiment with repeat printing to build layers of shapes and colours to create exciting effects. Generate hand drawn or photographic designs and learn to expose on to a light sensitive emulsion coated screen. Explore the possibilities of overprinting to produce interesting compositions of pattern, image and colour. The course will enable the planning and formulating of prints with a good understanding of how to register and overprint in a combination of different ways.
