About the Course
Explore stitched and clamped 'shibori' resist dyeing with indigo blue and rust. Create subtle colour variations and surprising pattern effects with these fast acting dyes. Choose to stitch pieces in to a textile composition or dye a ready made bag.
By the end of the course you will be able to
Use basic stitches to resist dye cloth in a series of delicate patterns
Explore speedy and effective patternmaking made using wraps clips and clamps
Develop pattern placements on a bag or garment, or stitch your samples into pleasing patchworked compositions
Class format and activities
Work in a friendly and supportive studio, with individual and group learning. Handling samples, handouts and artist/craft images will inspire your work.
In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.

What you need to know before you enrol
The studio is on the second floor of the Nancy Seear building.
Disabled access via lift to first floor and stair lift to second floor.

An apron or overall will be useful to protect clothes.
