Who is this course for
This is a project based course that is designed for students of all levels who are interested in playfully exploring different themes, ways of working, skills and materials with a view to starting or expanding your design portfolio.
It is preferable if students have some textile, graphics, fine art or Photoshop experience, but beginners can apply as the course can cover basic skills.
What does this course cover
The aim of the course is to introduce you to 3 popular themes that are often used in textiles art and design: geometric, floral and conversational designs. This is a good starting point for beginners and a great way for more experienced students to refresh your creative practice and develop your portfolio.
The course will cover hand and digital techniques in pattern designs and image transfer on to fabrics. You will learn how to transfer drawings or digital photographs into a textile print and how to work to a brief or theme.
