About the Course
This course is aimed at artists with some previous experience in watercolour painting. Your tutor will encourage you to develop your own finished paintings, utilising new ideas and techniques, working from sketches and photographs gathered on location. The Lake District provides a wonderful opportunity to explore ideas, sketch and paint on location and develop your overall watercolour vocabulary. A mixture of well selected locations will provide a wide variety of subject matter. Working both outdoors and indoors, help, advice and encouragement will be offered to build confidence in watercolour landscape drawing and painting. Tuition and painting sessions will help you achieve fresher and more spontaneous results. Evening sessions will include workshop-type exercises together with opportunities to work on your daytime sketches and paintings guided by your tutor. Some non-strenuous walking may be required to access some favourite painting locations.
