About the Course
Using the inspiration of Constable Country, tutor Pat Gavin will help you develop your style. Stay at Flatford Mill, a property which features in Constable paintings.
This course, for people with previous art experience, will be led by the wishes of the participants and the areas of their art people would like to work on. The aim is to build on existing skills to enable the participants to enhance their work. See also the 06 Aug-10 Aug if you would like to join Pat for a full week and enjoy a 10% discount on the fees.
Pat Gavin studied Painting, Illustration, History of Art and Interior Design at Hornsey College of Art. Painting has always been central to his work during his career as an illustrator, graphic designer and animator, in television, film and advertising. He took the art and skill of painting on canvas into the technology of computer generated images and now brings this knowledge back to the canvas as a full time painter and teacher.
Bring a friend! If you are attending a course at Flatford Mill at the sole occupancy price, we are offering a special rate for a friend or partner not enrolled on the course to also stay at £50 per night for dinner, bed and breakfast. Please get in touch directly to book this offer.
Flatford Mill lies at the heart of the Dedham Vale, on the banks of the River Stour near the Suffolk-Essex border. The Centre buildings, particularly the Mill and Willy Lott’s House, are instantly recognisable since they feature in many paintings by John Constable. The rich mosaic of lowland landscapes, wildlife habitats and places of historic interest are all reflected in our extensive programme of courses.
The Centre is located between Colchester and Ipswich and is about 10 miles from each, approximately 2 miles from the A12.
