Deflective Double Cloth - 5 day weaving course
Contact course provider
About the Course
Deflected double cloth comes from the idea that there are two differing coloured cloths being woven and whilst these are woven in blocks, side by side the end result looks like a singly woven cloth. When one of these cloths are not being woven the weft will float over or under the second cloth. Normally matching colours will weave together, floating under or above the will both reveal and conceal the opposing colour thus creating the pattern.
In this 5 day workshop you will be shown how to weave varying selvedges when weaving this graphic cloth as well as a number of worksheets on which to base your finished piece before preparing two warps, on two separate beams to create your own cloth.
