Taking your sewing skills to the next level; Learn all the dressmaking techniques you will need to understand a pattern and start your dressmaking journey!

You will practice some essential techniques, make a range of samples for your sewing portfolio and learn to read and understand a pattern.

This is an intermediate class for those with basic knowledge of the sewing machine - if you are new to sewing or are feeling a bit rusty try our Sewing Machine Masterclass first!

Sewing tools Sewing terms Pressing tools and how to press like a pro Understand stitches, straight stitch, staystitch, basting/tacking/understitch/topstitch Learn to sew basic hand sewing stitches for a flawless finish; tacking, invisible stitch, different hemming stitches Professional seam finishes, French, zig zag, overlock, bias bound Hems Gathering fabric Sew and press darts Insert a zip Buttonholes Learn how to make bias strips Learn to read, decipher and understand a sewing pattern
