I cannot overstate how perfect my day on Helen’s course was.
I came home with my lovely Roman blind, and have just finished putting it up!
Helen is professional and so patient, ensuring that you are taken through every single process of your project. I learnt many techniques and practical tips, and have gained confidence to do it again.
And I almost forgot to mention the many cups of coffee and a superb lunch!
So, thank you Helen, I will certainly be back!

I have just spent a glorious day learning how to make a Roman Blind in a venue situated in a sublime Somerset village and run by a Tutor whose skills were second to none.
We were a mixed bunch of participants with a mixed skills set, attempting mixed projects and somehow, our Tutor, Helen, managed to give us all just the right amount of attention that we needed to enable us all to achieve something of beauty at the end of our day.
The course is great irrespective of the amount of experience that you have with the pace slow enough for you to be able to take it all in, yet also fast enough to achieve its aims. Add that together with a lovely atmosphere, sumptuous lunch and treats galore and you can see why this course is a winner.
I am a self confessed Course Junkie - I’ve been on many, and this is one of the best.
Thank you, Helen, for a really lovely day.

Response from Helen Izzard Designs:Thank you Caroline, it was lovely to meet you at last x
I have just attended a really great 1 day workshop, learning how to make my first ever cushion with piped edge & zip.
Helen Izzard was our lovely approachable tutor, she managed very skillfully to guide our group (with a diverse range of sewing skills & experience) through making a variety of soft furnishings. We were all able to work at a relaxed & comfortable pace throughout the day, without feeling pressured or neglected. Helen read the needs of each individual within the group very well, ensuring we all had a good amount of support & advice, but also allowed us time & space to put our newly learned skills into practice.
Tea, coffee, biscuits, cake & a wonderfully tasty lunch was all provided throughout the day, which helped to keep the energy levels high. The whole day was fun & enjoyable !
When I left the workshop I felt proud of what I had achieved & totally inspired to make more cushions & expand my sewing skills further in future. Helen was really welcoming from the moment I walked into the workshop to the moment I left, she even offered ongoing support via email should any of the delegates require it.
I plan to attend another of Helen's courses soon & would have no hesitation in recommending her course to anyone wanting to gain or improve upon their sewing skills.
Thanks for a great day Helen...

Thank you so much Helen for such a great day . I have learnt so much and very proud of my roman blind.
Lovely lunch and cake too
I really liked the Class sizes being small, therefore the tuition was excellent
I’ve been to classes in the past with too many in the group and I’ve spent ages waiting for help to be able to move on
I can’t wait for the next one!!

I had a lovely day learning how to make an interlined Roman blind. I have made blinds and curtains before, but not interlined them, and my measuring and cutting was always a bit hit and miss! Helen gave me excellent tips on how make sure my projects really are made to measure. Thoroughly enjoyable, sociable and useful day. Thank you, Helen.

Have just returned home from a really lovely day learning to make an interlined roman blind with Helen Izzard. I have come home feeling inspired to carry on making more blinds. Helen was so welcoming and a really genuine, lovely lady who guided us through each process individually and adapting it to each individuals requirements for their blind.
Helen has the great skill of teaching and encouraging at whatever level you are and was very supportive. I will most definitely return on a curtain making course and highly recommend Helen to anyone wishing to gain the skills needed to create their own curtains or blinds.
