A two hour workshop (on Zoom) designed to get or keep your writing flowing using prompts and exercises based on the art of free-flow writing. Free-flow writing engages the subconscious mind so that your conscious mind doesn't halt you in your tracks with its judgments! Always fun to see what comes out when you're not thinking. You will be able to expand on the pieces you write after the workshop eg extend it into a short story or you may even find that what 'comes out' is actually part of a project you are already working on.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
These workshops are facilitated by an experienced tutor who has been teaching creative writing workshops, courses and groups 'in person' for several years and who has a 1st class degree (2012) in Creative Writing. You and the other participants will be given a prompt or exercise and a set time to complete it (around 10 minutes) then invited to read your piece out to the rest of the online class or to just listen to what other people have written. This process will be repeated (different prompts/exercises) throughout the two hours - we will do between three and five altogether.
What you will need
These type of writing prompts and exercises are more effective when using pen/pencil and paper rather than anything with a keyboard. However, if you're really adverse to using pen/pencil and paper, then feel free to use your laptop/computer! Oh, and make sure you have your favourite cuppa available!
