About the Course
A new course for 2018 with Priscilla Edwards
Using various fabrics, acrylic paints and machine stitch you will create a contemporary box canvas for your wall. During the day you will explore a range of techniques to enable you to produce a finished piece that is personal and will reflect your own ideas. This is fantastic workshop for anyone who would like to explore a mixed media approach to stitched textiles, no experience necessary just bring enthusiasm.
There will be a £5 materials charge payable on the day which includes your A4 size canvas, paints and fabrics etc. You are encouraged to bring your favourite materials scraps and any embellishments you may already have plus inspirational pictures or references you come across. .
Priscilla has been creating contemporary stitched mixed media pieces in 2D and 3D since completing her degree in Embroidery at Manchester Metropolitan University in 1997

What's included in the price?
Welcome drinks : fresh coffee & home made biscuits, a lovely 2 course Aga lunch served in our farmhouse kitchen or outside in the Greystoke Cycle Cafe Tea Garden as soon as it's warm enough. To finish off the day, a freshly made Cream Tea (including Aga-baked scones, cream and jam).
Our days are considered special treats; many come back time and time again and often combine it with a short break to the Lake District.
We have been hosting and organising 'Quirky Workshops' since 2005 from our friendly family run Cycle Cafe Tea Garden on the northern fringes of the Lake District. All our tutors are carefully hand selected experts and professionals and many considered as leading nationally in their field.
Tools will be provided, but may be purchased after the course if you find you're bitten by the carving bug. It is recommended that you bring an apron.
There will be a small materials charge of £5 to cover the cost of the specialist wood payable on the day to Dave depending on what you use.
