Unlock your imagination and explore experimental approaches to painting. Be inspired by music, poetry, stories and other artworks in practical exercises and projects. Use a range of different methods and materials including paint, collage and mixed media to visualise your creative ideas. All levels and abilities welcome. In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.
The course is open to all levels and experience, and is also suitable for those wishing to build a portfolio for progression onto an Art & Design Foundation or Access programme. More experienced students will be able to further develop their skills, and explore new techniques and materials
What you need to know before you enrol
This course takes place on the first floor of the art block which does not have disabled access.
What you will need for your class
You will be using a variety of drawing and painting materials and tools: charcoal, pencils, inks, pastels, wax crayons, acrylic paint, brushes, sponges. It is advisable to bring a mixing palette and water containers. Additional materials will be needed for specific projects e.g. collage papers and objects, textural materials. (A list of materials needed will be provided at the start of the course.) Paper and canvas will be available for purchase.
Note: Materials will be provided for the first session.
