About the Course
With ceramic surfaces in mind students will explore drawing and mark making on papers. We will work with graphite and charcoal, inks, wax resist, frottage and some low-tech printmaking techniques such as monoprint and block printing. We will also experiment with making drawings that can be projected onto 2D shapes and 3D forms as a starting point for generating ideas. The aim is to help give a more exploratory approach to drawing and mark making in ceramics and to help generate ideas through exploring materials as well as making observations from and responses to physical objects., ,Teaching will be by demonstrations, specific exercises and mini projects.,
