About the Course
This course is perfect for beginners to learn a new craft and experienced individuals to further their pottery skills with expert tuition. Throughout the classes, you have the opportunity to explore and develop skills within throwing, hand-building, coiling, mould-making and sculpting. There will also be classes developing skills in more specialist techniques, such as; glazing, sgrafitto, slip-casting and many more!

The course is run with two tutors; Christine Baxter and Isobel Higley.
-ABOUT CHRISTINE BAXTER-
Christine Baxter is a professional sculptor, now based at Court Robert Arts in Monmouthshire. Christine has over 25 years experience with working in clay, often sculpting her artwork in clay first. She has previously worked for Disney, Lucas Film and more! She studied at Camberwell School of Art and graduated in the 80s.
'Many of my family members have been artists, there have been wrought iron gate makers, dress designers, wood carvers, sculptors, landscape designers, photographers and cooks. Making things is in my genes, but I have also benefited from growing up in an art nurturing environment. My earliest memories are of drawing and sculpting with my grandfather,'- Christine Baxter, 2018.
-ABOUT ISOBEL HIGLEY-
Isobel Higley graduated from Falmouth University in 2016 with BA(Hons) contemporary craft. Since graduating, her work has been showcased at several exhibitions including, create to commemorate- Royal Cornwall Museum, the Japanese House- Barbican Centre and the Pearl Collective- Edinburgh, just to name a few!
As a ceramic artist Isobel uses sustainable processes in her practise wherever possible to reduce negative impact on the environment.
The classes will being at 9:30am and finish at 4pm. There is plenty of on-site parking.

Materials vary week by week, please contact us to see what you'll need for each sessions - most materials are included in our prices.
Please wear comfortable clothing, which you don't mind getting covered in clay!
Hot refreshments are provided but please bring a packed lunch with you. An hour will be taken for lunch, 12:15-13:15pm.
