About the Course
This workshop is aimed at those who are competent with watercolour application, but would like to explore the exiting possibilities that painting with gum arabic has to offer.
Find out how to create soft luminous glows of light with this wonderful medium with the freedom to be inventive throughout the drying process, really ethereal effects can be achieved in this way which opens up avenues otherwise closed to us with watercolour.
We will start this day workshop by exploring the possible outcomes with this medium, then experimenting with technique, before embarking on a painting which can be achieved during the course of the day.
It is the aim of this workshop that the student goes home having learned something new in a fun and absorbing way, and having added another string to their bow, after class online support will be offered by Gilly, along with homework, so the student can take what they have learned and apply it in their own time to their own chosen subject matter.
For those students living further afield, Gilly also offers accommodation at Grove farmhouse, which Gilly's teaching studio is a part of, there are 3 double, 1 triple, and 1 single bed rooms available, and for group bookings, there is also a sofa bed on the ground floor which is suitable for those with mild mobility limitations, for more information visit the top of Gilly's website, under 'Grove farmhouse'
