About the Course
Spend a few hours learning how to make several small items from English Rush including a coaster and a mini basket. Fresh water rushes (Scirpus Lacustris) have been used for centuries to make floor matting, chair seating, hats, bags and baskets.
It is a renewable and sustainable material found growing in the fens, marshes, lakes and slow river banks of England.
Your tutor Louise Arthur from ‘Rough Around the Hedges’ will bring rush which was harvested last summer 2018 to weave into items during this relaxed and enjoyable session.
