In-person course

Corn Dolly Making (Advanced)

Christmas Designs

If you have attended one of Michaels' courses before this will help you advance your skills.
Spend the day working with straw using traditional methods to create a beautiful pot pourri hanger. Corn dollies are a form of straw work made as part of harvest customs and decoration. Michael recently appeared on Channel 4 in Kirsty Alsop's Christmas Decorating competition with his corn dolly creations.

This course is ideal for those with a love of traditional English crafts.

Tutor Information
Mike Sprigg started making corn dolly’s at the age of 8, when he was taught by his granddad. He had almost forgotten all about it until a few years ago, but have steadily built up a decent portfolio of different shapes, sizes and designs mostly from his imagination. Mike has shown at Yesterdays Farming which has been held on the Dillington house grounds for the past two years, last year he won the best original craft in show. Mike is looking forward to passing his knowledge on.
