Copper Etching For Beginners

On this 2 hour class, students will be introduced to the basic techniques for etching designs onto copper. Students will experiment using permanent markers and permanent ink stamping pads to create textures, patterns, and images on metal.

Students will have the opportunity to make a framed picture and a couple of pieces of jewellery such as a pendant, key chain, earrings, or bracelet.

No previous jewellery experience is necessary and this class is suitable for complete beginners including sensible children.

All materials and use of tools are included in the price of the workshop. We will be using an acid to etch our metal pieces. It is not a highly corrosive material but it will stain, please wear old clothes. Safety goggles, gloves and aprons will be provided.

Beverages and light snacks are included plus all materials.

Please be ware there is a flight of stairs to access our studio.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
