About the Course
Join me in embracing the joy of creating 'handmade' by spending some time out, one Saturday a month, learning how to make something both beautiful, bespoke and useful! You will spend a few satisfying hours learning new skills and go home rewarded with an utterly unique item! These workshops are designed for both beginners and the more advanced. Held in the fabulous Art Studio in Harbour House Kingsbridge. Please note: the Art Studio is on the 2nd floor and there are no lifts so unfortunately there is no disabled access.
September 23rd: "Stamp and Stitch" (No sewing machines needed) In this workshop we will use some beautiful
handmade stamps to create a unique cloth which we will then embellish with creative hand embroidery. We will cover a range of basic stitches and you will end the day with a sampler of stitches to refer to as well as your own stamped and stitched lavender bag.
In all workshops, additional tools and materials will be available to purchase in order to continue with your new crafty skills set.
October 7th: "Creative Applique" In this workshop, we will make our own totally unique fabric using recycled materials. Annie will teach you how to applique a host of fabrics to produce a beautiful one-of-a-kind piece. We will then turn these unique creations into a purse or makeup bag.
November 18th: Freehand Machine Embroidery, Collage & Applique. A hugely popular skill to learn, beware as this is addictive! Annie will show you how to start your free machine embroidery journey using your own machine. Just make sure that you can lower the 'feed dogs' or have a 'plate cover'. I will show you lots of inspiring work and samples and teach you how to apply fabrics and designs to a base and embellish it with freehand machine embroidery. You will learn how to transform your piece into a small lantern or pot.... These will make great Christmas gifts! Feel free to bring along any cherished fabrics, trims or notions that you may want to use. Workshop suitable for both beginners and more advanced.

Thank you Annie for a very informative course. I now feel much more confident to use my sewing machine. I've used the notes I made with you and my test material with all the different stitch lengths. It was a really useful, fun day.

IT was a lovely day where Annie took us through the basics of machine embroidery. She was able to help everyone out individually and came over as someone who knew a lot about the subject and was excited to pass on what she knew.
I loved looking at all her samples and meeting like-minded people.
I would like to know how to progress with the technique 'beyond the basics' now.
