About the Course
An exciting opportunity to hand print and dye anodised aluminium with Caroline who has been working and creating with the medium for 10 years and sells her work in galleries and exhibitions around the UK.
Create your own rubber printing blocks inspired by the natural world or anything that takes your fancy, using erasers and lino cutting techniques. Use these blocks to hand print unique repeat patterns on aluminium squares and strips, there will also be ready made printing blocks to use during the session. Once fully printed the aluminium can be dyed to vibrant effect, sealed and then made in to unique and beautiful jewellery.
Printing and dyeing will be done during the morning (following a short introduction to techniques with examples), the metal then requires 45 minutes to seal the colour in a tea urn which is done over lunch, the class continues after this 45 minutes following an introduction to the tools, experimenting and making begins.
Suitable for beginners and those with experience of jewellery making.
