About the Course
A one day workshop introducing colour paint effects including gilding, bronze paint effects, cold copper patina, wax and crackle technique. Bring your fired ceramic, plaster or wood or metal sculptures to try. Basic materials included. All levels welcome.
By the end of the course you will be able to
oil gild a surface with a variety of metal leaf
make an aged porcelain finish with Craquelure varnishes
mix own metallic paints
to artificially age these finishes through patinating and coloured waxes
Understand and practice Health and safety procedures for these processes.
Class format and activities
Practical work colouring and finishing your individual work with tutor guidance, tuition, demonstrations, group discussions and question and answer.
Constructive and supportive feedback from your tutor will help you succeed during the class.
No. Although you will need to bring your own work to use the techniques on. Samples can also be available to try.
