Description

This one-day course is an exciting way to work with papers, collage and Printmaking. As an accessible medium you will discover the freedom of expression, experimentation and joy that combining print and collage can create.

Covering a variety of techniques, you will be able to experiment with different papers. Printing your own collage papers and using pre made samples, we will look at how these can be used to create a set of printed impressions.

The nature of this course allows you to let your creativity roam free and will be underpinned with support from your tutor in:

• Working with colour, texture and pattern to create your own papers.
• How to use traditional Printmaking to combine with the collage papers ready to create bold, vibrant prints.
• Paper manipulation to add texture and interest to the printed impression.
• Different print techniques including lino print and stamping.

Through the combination of materials and techniques you will be able to introduce a richness and depth to your work culminating in a series of dynamic works.

We will be working with oil-based inks. There will be no solvents used for cleaning, but please do bring protective clothing (apron, old top) and a pair of old washing up gloves or similar hand protection.
