About the Course
The Coil Pot Building workshop focuses on this traditional hand building method. This is a great class for those who want to build larger work.
The day will start with a demonstration of the hand building technique of coiling to create your basic form. The afternoon will be focused on refining your form and preparing for firing. You will also learn about surface decoration methods and your pieces can be decorated with engobes, slips and underglazes.
We will be using a stoneware crank clay. Your pieces will go through a single high firing to 1240c, ready for collection around 4-6 weeks later (or delivery for P&P costs).
This workshop is open to all skill levels. Class sizes are small and friendly, and Imogen will be on hand to offer support with ideas and processes throughout.
Places are limited to 5 students to ensure plenty of one to one tuition and support throughout.
