The course will provide you with a thorough introduction to the general principles and skills of clothes making and sewing, using a purchased commercial pattern. A different garment type is taught each term: Summer - a top/blouse with sleeves. Each garment type involves different pattern adjustments and methods of construction. You will also learn how to sew a centred zip.
Attending three terms of the course will build your knowledge and skills as you work on these different garment types. Progression to intermediate level is possible but you must have achieved, competence at using commercial patterns and making simple garments.
