A fun kit for any age and all the family which can be adapted to guide beginners or those with more experience. Includes a free chance for one person to throw a pot when you return your pots for complimentary firing. But if you live too far away to take advantage of the complimentary firing, the kit comes with detailed PDF photo instructions so that you can have a go at bonfire/garden burner/BBQ firing at home (specially written for Crafts a Council not for profit initiative “Hey Clay” 2020)
Distance learning potting kit including *5kg clay, a set of 8 tools and 3 disposable aprons. Also after delivery, followed up with full instructions, ideas and technical support freely given on your platform of choice email/telephone/online. Initially this will be four PDF photo instructions with basic beginners projects, tiles, pinch pots, making a Japanese style cup or Yunomi and how to have a go at firing in your own garden. If you already have some pottery experience more advanced advice can be sent. In either case I encourage you to get in contact and ask plenty of questions while you work. Send photos of your pots as they progress and I’ll give you specific advice for success.
*This kit comes with real potters clay (rather than self hardening as you buy in the high street which can’t be permanent) that can be fired to high stoneware temperature making it dishwasher/microwave/oven/garden proof forever.
£50 plus £10 for delivery to most parts of the UK. We are, at all times aware that we need to make things safe for us all and we will make sure all contents and parcels are scrupulously clean and every item sprayed with disinfectant.
If at any point this government advice changes on delivery of goods we will update this page.
Free of charge collection is available without meeting anyone.
In due course you can if you wish, return up to 12 pots to us for firing to my studio shop or secure coded outdoor “potbank”. We have safe free off-road parking next to it. Although I’m aware some kits advise that pots can be posted back for firing, I find that this relies on very skilled packaging to prevent breakage on its way back to us and is rarely successful.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
5kg stoneware clay, 8 various tools, 3+aprons and as a complimentary extra; firing with glaze (applied for you after the first firing by the potter, n.b. glaze not included in the kit as the glaze has to be applied after the pot has been bisque fired once) and PDF emailed or print out of instructions and ideas.
Packing and delivery (to anywhere that isn’t on my way to work) will be at cost of £10 to most parts of the UK. Sorry about this but in present circumstances I wouldn’t be allowed to deliver.
What you will need
A clear covered surface on which to work. All instructions can be provided by phone, email, online or in a format we can arrange individually with you.
