About the Course
IDC are working in association with Leicester College to bring you a range of Level 1 City & Guilds Awards and Certificates.
This course is for a Level 1 Certificate in Sewing Machine Techniques, where you will learn how to use a sewing machine correctly and produce sewing samples, such as straight stitch, hemming stitch, etc. At the end of the course you will be a competent user of a sewing machine and be able to go self employed or obtain a job as a Sewing Machine operator.
What's the difference between an Award and a Certificate?
The Certificate includes 120 guided teaching hours.
The Certificate usually retails at £1580, however if you book via IDC you can obtain the discounted price at £1100. However, you need to book via this site or via IDC to obtain this discount.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
You will be able to use the centre's sewing machines and will initially be given fabric samples to practice on. Once you have gained the basic skills there will be a small charge for fabrics or you can bring your own. Students are encouraged to buy their own fabrics in order to develop skills in fabric costing and understanding fabric and its applications.
