It is an incredibly rewarding moment when you can give a person a gift that you have made and see the appreciation.
This course aims to give an introduction to woodturning, the tools needed, and how to make things safely whilst completing small tasks and challenges which should result in between 3 and 6 high-quality toys being produced.
These toys tend to include different types of spinning tops, magic tricks, replica wands, balls, and reproductions of popular vintage toys.
A special focus is given to toy safe finishes within this study.
The main problem when picking up a new skill is often not having a project to make and refine your skills. Small toys are a great beginner project as they don't take up a lot of material and you can practice without fear. Not only this, but toys also make excellent gifts.
Once you have a good technique going onto bigger and more complex projects will be a lot easier and you will be more confident in developing your own projects.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
