We're delighted to announce that Chris Newson will be running two workshops for Settle Community and Business Hub at the Settle Quaker Meeting House in the centre of Settle. She'll be running one in the morning from 10am to 12.30 noon and one in the afternoon from 1.30 to 4pm, to give you a hands-on introduction and improvers sessions for the wonderful world of Chinese brush painting.
In each of these 2.5 hr workshops you will learn the basics of the art of Chinese brush painting or have the opportunity to develop and practice your skills if you've tried it before.
In the morning we'll do some brushwork introduction and practice followed by peacocks in gongbi meticulous style. In the afternoon we'll do dragons in misty clouds in xeylei freestyle. People attending for the whole day will have the opportunity to do misty mountains.
This is a hands on workshop and no artistic experience or knowledge of Chinese brush painting or calligraphy is needed - Chris will show you everything you need to know.
People are welcome to book both sessions and do whatever aspect of this type of art work that interests them.
Please make sure you book on the correct session:
- the morning session runs from 10am to 12.30pm.
- the afternoon session runs from 1.30 to 4pm.
There is an early bird discount of £5 per session if you book by 31st October.
