About the Course
One Day Charcoal Making Course
Join us in our wood near Warminster and learn about the ancient rural craft of charcoal making.
The course will cover the following:
Sawing and Splitting Wood
Unloading and loading the charcoal ring kiln
Lighting the charcoal ring kiln
Capping off the ring kiln
Controlling the burn
Shutting the ring kiln down
Use a small retort kiln
Take home a bag of charcoal
Please bring a packed lunch with you.
You will also need to bring sturdy shoes or boots and wear suitable clothing for working outdoors.
Please note this course will run from our Warminster site.
