About the Course
Beautifully intricate patterns can be woven with metal links, and this class will show you the basics to get started with chainmaille weaving. Using rings made with your choice of silver or gold-plated wire, you'll learn to make a gorgeous helmweave bracelet. Enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and a cup of tea (and biscuits, of course!).
Suitable for complete beginners, you will be guided through every step by Wendy, owner of The Little Craftery, and life-long crafter.
The workshop runs for approximately two hours. Enjoy a chat with like minded people and learn some new skills!
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
All tools, materials, drinks and snacks are provided. You'll take home the bracelet you've made, and some diagrams to remind you, so you can make more at home.
Some people are quicker than others. If you are fast and finish quickly, you'll also get to make a helmweave rosette, which can be worn as a pendant (you'll be given a chain aswell), or can be worked into a larger piece at home.
This was my first ever class on jewellery making & I absolutely loved it! Wendy was very welcoming & her teaching way is very relaxed & encouraging. With the class taking place in her studio you gain such inspiration for lots of other helmweave items she has on show. I look forward to attending other classes at The Little Craftery to broaden my knowledge on chainmail technics under the expert tutelage of Wendy. Absolutely fabulous! 10/10 *****

I enjoyed the class and learning a new skill. Teaching was relaxed, clear and friendly. The environment was good, large and light. All the equipment was supplied. Nice to get refreshments.
I didn’t score excellent as I didn’t finish my bracelet and perhaps course should be 30 mins longer.
Also kits to take away to do another bracelet would be a good selling idea, or the rings prepacked in bags 10,20 etc
