About the Course

A beginner's introduction to the basic process of making and glazing ceramics. You will watch short specific demonstrations and explore and make with the techniques demonstrated. You will make a range of finished objects. A 4 week course is also available (see the website for more details).

This course will allow you to get a feel of what it is like to work with clay and glaze and begin to understand it’s potential to make a form. You will look at different types of clay and learn how to shape and mould it using a limited range of techniques. You will have time to experiment with the some options for decorating the clay surface through using clay coloured slip and completing the form with a basic introduction to glazing.
