About the Course
Ceramic Decorative Tiles workshop
Design, make and decorate up to two decorative ceramic tiles
Suitable for beginner and experienced potters, join Nottingham based studio potter Sarah Burton in a relaxed and creative atmosphere to make your own design of tiles.
Sarah will show you how to roll out a slab of clay, cut out your tiles and decorate them with different textures and paint them with underglazes. Your tiles will then be glazed with a transparent glaze and fired. They will be posted to you a few weeks later.
Bring with you any design ideas you may have – alternatively get ideas on the day from the ‘Bits and Bobs Box’ that Sarah will bring along to inspire your creativity. The tiles can be used as teapot stands, coasters, wall hangings, house number, children’s bedroom door name tile…… and lots more.
• Suitable for all abilities.
• No previous experience is required.
• There is a maximum of 8 students to a workshop.
• Wear old clothes and/or an apron and bring a hand towel
