About the Course
This one day ring making workshop is packed with great techniques. Joy is a fantastic teacher, as well as artist, and were sure you'll leave this class not just with a fabulous ring, but lots of valuable new techniques and tips on how to work with metal clay.
Maybe you'll want to theme your ring on a planet or other celestial body. You'll learn how to make a ring band that has a squared off shape on the outside which is great to help stop the ring turning when it is being worn. We'll cover carving designs, adapting textures and shapes to make them more interesting, making small decorations, making a three dimensional topper for the ring made of several elements and firing large and small stones. You'll end up with your own unique ring to wear home.
Techniques covered in this class:
Constructing a strong and comfortable ring
Stone setting - multiple stones
Working with textures
Making tiny decorations
Making a three dimensional metal clay design
Combining metal clay elements
You will need a standard metal clay tool kit for this class. If you are missing any tools or struggling to bring them, let us know as we can help.
