Carved Block Making - Millinery
Description
Learning how to create your own hat blocks will give you the freedom to take your designs off the page and into 3-dimensions. By the end of the course you'll have produced a crown or brim block plus a small independent shape which can be used to block a small headpiece. The block can be used as a model for a wooden replica, on its own or combined with your regular dome block to make innovative hats.
You should come to the course with ideas of the types of blocks you'd like to create. This course provides a unique opportunity to develop this valuable practical skill whilst creating these essential pieces of equipment economically.
No previous experience of the subject is required. Please carefully consider enrolling if you suffer from asthma or any other chest condition. If you do suffer from any breathing condition, please inform the tutor at the beginning of the course.
