Calligraphy workshops in the classroom with Julie Chaney are restarting and will be held on alternate Wednesdays from 19 May.
Each day will be split into two 3-hour sessions, morning and afternoon. This listing is for the morning class.
[See separate course listings for afternoon sessions or discounted full days]
The lessons are mixed ability, from absolute beginners to those wishing to improve, and each student is tutored according to their level. Beginners will learn how to form beautiful letters using traditional dip pen and ink. Improvers can build on their skills with refinements and variations or incorporating art techniques. Children are welcome, recommended 10yrs+.
All classes can be booked individually with no commitment beyond each workshop.
The venue is a light and airy room within Ogilvie Hall with its own kitchen and WC and a lawn area outside.
A maximum number of six places are offered per class to allow for adequate distancing. The room will be Covid-safe and everyone will be asked to conform to the usual personal precautions. I'll provide more specific details on booking.
Car-parking is available.
Disabled facilities include parking, access ramps and toilets.
Nearest railway station is Manningtree, a short taxi ride away (1.2 miles).
