About the Course

We are delighted that top calligrapher and tutor Gaynor Goffe is returning to Cumbria in May 2019 - full course details can be seen on our website, the link is above.

Gaynor Goffe is one of the UK's foremost calligraphers, only rarely does she travel north, we are delighted she has agreed to return to Greystoke on Thu 23 & Fri 24th May this year. Her last course here was attended by both beginners and experience calligraphers and many have already re booked - she is considered one of the best tutors in the UK and is inspiring for all levels including beginners.

Gaynor has worked with calligraphy since 1974 and has taught many of today's most prominent calligraphers. This course provides a unique opportunity for both aspiring and existing calligraphy students.

Greystoke has a village pub serving lovely food, a number of lovely B and B's as well as accommodation in the surrounding areas, we are very happy to send an accommodation list if you plan to come from afar.

Beyond Beginners

Those with more calligraphic experience can expect to improve their skill in one or more scripts of their choice, and widen their repertoire through experiment with letter form and lay-out.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

Welcome drinks : fresh coffee & home made biscuits, a lovely 2 course Aga lunch served in our farmhouse kitchen or outside in the Greystoke Cycle Cafe Tea Garden as soon as it's warm enough. To finish off the day, a freshly made Cream Tea (including Aga-baked scones, cream and jam).

Our days are considered special treats; many come back time and time again and often combine it with a short break to the Lake District.

We have been hosting and organising 'Quirky Workshops' since 2005 from our friendly family run Cycle Cafe Tea Garden on the northern fringes of the Lake District. All our tutors are carefully hand selected experts and professionals and many considered as leading nationally in their field.
