Experienced tutor, Jane, will guide you through some of the unique stroke & alphabet practices. It is a relaxed workshop and suitable for left or right handed people and those who are at the beginning of their calligraphy journey. The workshop will take place in the 100sqm converted craft barn with stunning views of the open Nottinghamshire countryside of Hanwell Wine Estate. The setting provides the perfect space to relax and engage in your passion while learning new useful skills. Who is the workshop for: No prior knowledge is required, this course is designed for beginners or those wishing to learn the art of calligraphy. What you need to bring : Nothing to bring – just yourself! Outline of the day : -An introduction with a welcome tea & coffee -Learn how to hold and use the pen correctly -Learn how to use a dip pen & ink correctly how to use a dip pen and ink -Morning refreshments -Learn and practice the basic strokes before moving onto the alphabet -Time will then be spent developing words and your own style -Gain tips, ideas and inspiration from a practicing and experienced calligrapher About your tutor Jane - Jane Lappage, the proud owner of Calligraphy Arts, a well-established husband and wife enterprise. Jane is dedicated to the art of calligraphy and all its facets, including all styles of calligraphy scripts as well as the intricate world of 'Gold Leaf'. She exclusively offers products that she knows are effective for learning calligraphy, making them readily available in her classes and on her website. Jane is an active member of various Calligraphy groups and is always eager to share her knowledge and provide valuable tips to support you on your calligraphy journey. We invite you to join her and embark on a beautiful path of creativity. To ensure the quality of your personal experience, group size will be limited to 8.
