Description:

In this weekend course you will get the chance to try out a range of upcycling techniques to bring new life to an old piece of furniture! Bring a small cabinet, cupboard or set of drawers that you would like to upcycle. You can also bring handles/door knobs, or any plastic or wooden objects that you would like to make into handles. There will also be a selection available to buy in the workshop if you don’t have your own.
The course is aimed at beginners and will show you:
- How to prepare surfaces
- Paints and painting techniques
- How to customise an item of furniture by making, adapting or replacing handles and door knobs

Tutor is woodworker and creative maker Fern Busuttil.

What's included in the price?

All tools and materials are included but you will need to pay for any replacement handles that we provide.

There is a cafe next to the Makershed in the St Pauls Learning Centre serving hot meals and drinks at lunchtime. Students are also welcome to bring a packed lunch.
