After initial introductions and a fresh cup of tea/ coffee, we experiment with acrylic paints, colour schemes, composition, and real feathers.
Using the techniques covered, you move on to planning your feather painting on acrylic paper.
After lunch (please bring a packed lunch) it is really exciting as you paint your captivating feather composition on a canvas.
The workshop is in my beautiful garden studio/gallery which is airy, light, and inspirational. The studio/gallery houses a permanent exhibition of my work. It is in the market town of Gainsborough on the banks of the Trent, which has the stunning Old Hall in the town centre.
This workshop is suitable for all abilities and is great for wellbeing and mindfulness. If you haven't picked up a paintbrush since school or you regularly paint, this session is for you.
Originally from Liverpool, I have been head of Art in schools in Surrey & Nottinghamshire for over 24 years.
My studio/gallery has been open for 5 years. I run a wide variety of workshops and hold annual open-day art exhibitions from my garden studio/gallery.
The maximum number of participants is 6 which creates a lovely atmosphere and allows for plenty of 1-1 tuition and social distancing. Previous clients have equated their experiences of a workshop to a spa day!
As it is a full day, please bring a packed lunch and an apron as we are using acrylic paints which can stain.
It is possible to run the workshop on different dates to suit your needs. The minimum booking is for 2, the maximum is 6. Please contact me via 'message the tutor' if you have any questions.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
