BTEC HND Tailoring & Streetwear



The fashion business is worth £26 billion to the UK economy and alongside tailoring one of its fastest growing niches can be commonly termed as streetwear. Brands such as Offwhite, Stussy, Supreme, Palace and even Nike are recognised as key players and innovators in this space.

This course is one of the few Tailoring courses in London, our focus is on contemporary tailoring and street wear trends.You will get a fusion of traditional and contemporary skills. The streetwear consumer wants affordable exclusivity and is prepared to spend up to 5 times more on streetwear items compared to non street wear.

Tailoring is also becoming more and more popular as many consumers continue want individuality whilst looking smart and are prepared to invest for this exclusivity.

We have designed a two year exciting practical and hands on fashion programme to help you make the most of these opportunities. This course is one of the few Tailoring courses in London, our focus is on contemporary tailoring and street wear trends. Close to Kings Road Chelsea, with its celebrated history of cultural fashion movements and several major museums such as the Victoria & Albert musuem and a stone's throw from Savile Row, the hub of traditional tailoring. You will be inspired by our dedicated tutors who are also current industry experts in these fields.

Year 1 - Level 4 (Higher National Certificate) is a broad introduction to both areas where you will be encouraged to explore, be expressive and experimental by drawing on a range of materials. You will develop a wide range of technical and creative skills preparing you for both industries.

What's included in the price?

Teaching is both online and classroom based. Typical activities will take place in the format of direct teaching with tutor demonstrations, peer discussions, practical skill development and use of examples and lectures. Demonstrations with workshop practice will form the main body of the learning environment. Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the learning outcomes above.
