About the Course
Brusho Silk sculptured textile pictures 10am – 12.30
Here is your chance to experiment with a completely new technique and create your own textile artwork, no previous experience is needed.
You will learn how to sculpt a picture from silk fabric. I will explain how I apply Brusho dye and you will have time to enjoy experimenting with the dye powders on silk fabric. Then the two processes will be put together to make your own picture. Finally, you will mount the picture ready for framing at home.
This workshop is suitable for all levels, no special skills are required. All materials are supplied.
Experimental Printing on fabrics 1pm – 3.30
If you enjoy experimenting with printing techniques, then this workshop is perfect. It will be an opportunity to explore screen-printing techniques on fabrics and papers. You will use stencils and layering techniques to create a range of different backgrounds which will be perfect for stitching into by machine or hand stitch or they can be left as they are simple but beautiful. The layering techniques include, stencil printing, overprinting, block printing, drawing into with mark-making and layering with collage.
This workshop is suitable for all levels, beginners through to the more experienced.

What's included in the price?
All materials will be provided and tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day. You will need to bring lunch or the city centre is only a 5 minute walk where you can buy lunch. The workshop will take place in a lovely bright studio 8-4-4 at Harpers Mill, White Cross, Lancaster LA1 4XQ.
